What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Pixels, tags, local storage and similar tools do the same job, and we call all of them cookies here. This page lists what runs on restauwant.com.

How we ask for your choice

  • Necessary cookies keep the site working and remember your choice. They are always on.
  • Analytics and marketing cookies are optional. On your first visit a banner offers "Accept" and "Reject" side by side. The site works the same if you reject.
  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, optional cookies stay off until you choose "Accept". We work out whether this applies from your device's time zone.
  • Elsewhere, optional cookies are on until you choose "Reject".
  • You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. We keep your choice for 12 months and then ask again.
  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a choice to reject, wherever you are.

What we use

Necessary

  • Webflow (our website host). Keeps the site running securely.
  • Our cookie banner. rw_consent: 12 months. Stores your cookie choice.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile, on pages with a form. Protects forms from spam and bots. Cloudflare's own terms and privacy policy apply to it.

Analytics (optional)

  • Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Counts visits and shows which pages are read, where visitors come from and roughly where they are. We keep event-level data for 14 months.
    • _ga: up to 2 years (many browsers cap it at about 13 months). Tells Google Analytics when the same browser returns.
    • _ga_<container ID>: the same. Holds the session state.
  • Hotjar. Shows how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and recordings of sessions).
    • _hjSessionUser_<site ID>: 365 days. Identifies the browser.
    • _hjSession_<site ID>: 30 minutes. Holds the current session.
    • Hotjar may set others; its cookie list has the details.

Marketing (optional)

  • Google Ads, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Tells Google when a visit follows one of our ads, so we can measure them.
    • _gcl_au: 90 days. Links a visit to an ad.
    • _gcl_aw: 90 days. Stores the ad you clicked to reach us.
  • Meta Pixel. Tells Meta that you visited, so we can measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram and show restauWant ads to people who have visited.
    • _fbp: 90 days. Identifies the browser for Meta.
    • _fbc: 90 days. Stores the ad you clicked to reach us.
    • fr: 90 days. Set by Meta on facebook.com for advertising and measurement.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag. Tells LinkedIn that you visited, for the same purposes.
    • bcookie: 2 years. Identifies the browser.
    • lidc: 1 day. Routes requests.
    • li_sugr: 90 days. Matches the browser to a LinkedIn identity.
    • UserMatchHistory and AnalyticsSyncHistory: 30 days. Synchronize LinkedIn's ad and analytics identifiers.
    • li_fat_id: 30 days. Tracks conversions and retargeting.
    • LinkedIn may set others; its cookie policy has the full list.
  • HubSpot. Links a form you submit to the pages you visited earlier, so we can see which page you wrote to us from.
    • __hstc: 6 months. Identifies the visitor and counts visits.
    • hubspotutk: 6 months. Holds the visitor ID used when a form is submitted.
    • __hssc: 30 minutes. Tracks the session.
    • __hssrc: session. Notes whether the browser restarted.
    • __cf_bm: 30 minutes. Set through HubSpot's network provider to tell people from bots.

Names and lifetimes are as set in the browser or published by each provider in October 2026.

The app and restaurants' own websites

The app at dashboard.restauwant.com uses cookies and local storage to sign you in and keep your session. It also loads the Google Analytics, HubSpot, Meta and LinkedIn tags described above.

restauWant also provides tracking for restaurants' own websites. Those cookies are set under the restaurant's own consent banner and are described in the restaurant's cookie policy, not this one.

Other ways to control cookies

  • Your browser lets you block or delete cookies; how depends on the browser. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
  • Google: Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, and the Analytics opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Meta: ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.
  • LinkedIn: advertising settings at linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls.
  • Hotjar: opt out at hotjar.com/policies/do-not-track.
  • Industry tools: youronlinechoices.com (Europe), optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org (United States).
